Application Assistance

West Baton Rouge Council on Aging is still closed to the public.  You must call to schedule an appointment for the following services.  You will also be required to submit some demographic proof such as:  Picture ID, proof of income and residency, proof of members in household, social security numbers for everyone, etc.

Nature calls for the families of each individual to take care of them, just as they were cared for when they were young. Unfortunately, careers and other matters of modern life can often make this a difficult task. West Baton Rouge Council on Aging and Senior Centers provides the support that retirees and their families require, including Nutritional and Dietary Counseling services, which we are more than happy to offer.

SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (SNAP) (FORMERLY THE FOOD STAMP PROGRAM)

Many of our community members at West Baton Rouge Council on Aging and Senior Centers require some degree of health and well-being monitoring. Our Senior Citizen Center provides complimentary and customizable Assisted Living services for all our residents. By catering to the personal needs of each resident, we go just one step further to make everyone feel like they’re truly at home at West Baton Rouge Council on Aging and Senior Centers.

MSP/LIS (MEDICARE SAVINGS PROGRAM/LOW-INCOME SUBSIDY)

To be eligible for Extra Help, you must: Be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B. Live in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Have a yearly income of $18, 735 or less (for individuals) or $25, 365 or less (for married couples living together). To be eligible for MSP you must have Medicare Part A and be at, or below, the income limits.

LIS is a federal program that helps pay for some to most of the out-of-pocket costs of Medicare prescription drug coverage and it's also called EXTRA HELP.
